The 25-year old Spain and
Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has applauded the Blue's new
signing Pedro to be a great success at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro scored the opening
goal and also made an assist in Chelsea's first win of the seasonagainst West Bromwich Albion on Sunday (Matchday 03). The 28-year old
former Barcelona forward had a pass accuracy of 86 percent and has
shown a great display of his talent in his debut.
Azpilicueta said,
"He has trained for
one week, he played his first game, he is discovering the Premier
League and I'm sure he will get better.
"I know him very
well and he fits into the team very well. I know his ambition, he is
hungry to help the team, win trophies and I know the way he started
the first game is amazing.
"I know from the
national team he is a top player. He played for Barcelona for so many
years and he fits into our team and the Premier League.
"They are two good
additions to the squad, it helps everybody to have competition.
"We know in football
there's nothing in the past, you have to prove (yourself) every day.
We won the league last year but we have to show in every game and
training we are ready.
"I am confident to
keep working, keep doing my job. I know the competition is good for
the team and I had a few great players around me. At the end,
hopefully the team will be better."
