The 30-year old
Manchester City and Argentina right back will be out of action for
one month due to a knee injury picked up in training.
The City defender, yet to
start a game this season, will hope to be in contention for the
Blues' opening Champions League game in mid-September but could miss
up to six games with Bacary Sagna likely to continue to fill the
right-back spot.
manager Manuel Pellegrini
confirmed saying,
"Pablo Zabaleta has
a problem in his knee, with the ligament."
Zabaleta told the club
website:
"It happened in
training," confirmed the Argentina defender. "It's the
first time in 12 years of senior football that I've ever been injured
like this so it's a blow, especially at the start of the season."
