Di Maria blames Van Gaal for his departure from Old Trafford

Angel Di Maria, the 27-year old Argentine midfielder who joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in 2014 has now left the Red Devils for French Champions PSG during this summer transfer.

Di Maria, who once played a key role in Real Madrid's success has managed to make only 27 appearances at Old Trafford due to his drop of form combined with injuries. The Argentine international who was once expected to be a great success under Van Gaal has now claimed that he had numerous problems with the Dutch coach and it forced him to leave United.

Di Maria told ESPN Radio,

"Van Gaal has his philosophy and one of the things that made me want to leave is that.

"It is difficult to adapt to Van Gaal. I had a couple of rows with him.

"I started well [at United] and after that I got injured. Things didn't go well for me and Van Gaal changed my position. I spoke with [Laurent] Blanc and his thinking was that I'd play in a similar position to where I did at Real Madrid."

Di Maria on his debut game, made a beautiful assist to Lavezzi's goal during PSG's 3 - 0 win over Monaco and he is full of joy for his French move.

"I didn't imagine a reception like this. It was the most beautiful presentation I have ever had. The truth is that I'm happy to come to PSG and to have teammates like Lavezzi and Pastore."
